5 Tasks To Get A Jump On The New Year!

1. The Fridge!

No doubt we have all ended up with a grip of leftovers. Eat them, freeze them, pass them on to the dogs! Don't start 2019 with a cluttered mess that encourages you to close the door and eat out! Make a meal plan for the week from your leftovers adding in as little added ingredients as possible and then Start your New Year fresh! Chances are your body is going to be craving some different foods after the rich holiday menus!

2. The Influx Of Gifts!

Give your new items some love by making a home for them. Don't leave them wrapped in ribbons and boxes and bags. Let the kids walk around with stockings and snacks and gifts til Thursday, but by Friday you need to be getting ready for life again.

3. Decorations!

We all want the festivities to last forever. But when you wake up on the first day of 2019 to a New Years Eve mess and a house dressed for Christmas you're going to feel overwhelmed. Start small. Put the Nativity, Stockings and Nic Nacs away first. Then start working on ornaments and exterior lights. If all you have is a tree with lights, it will feel much tidier!

4. Goals!

Jot down some simple goals for the New Year. You can wait until the first to do the planning but have some direction and motivation for after all the hoopla stops! This will stave off any of those sad nostalgia feelings. Those are traps, stay in the moment.

5. Go For A Walk!

You may start the New Year running, dieting, moving and shaking. Maybe recovering from the busy season with a nap after all the kids are off to school or the family has left town is more your style. However you choose to fill your time, take some time to clear your head, breathe in some fresh air, and consider all the possibilities this New Year holds. What of those possibilities would add to your life? Is there anything new worth pursuing?
